Kelly regularly advises private sector clients (including major financial institutions, insurance companies, universities and health sector organizations) on privacy and data protection inquiries for the UAE and wider Middle East region, covering both federal / national and free zone legal regimes. Her advice covers all aspects of data collection, handling and disclosure, including compliance considerations when implementing new information management solutions, consent mechanisms and offshore data transfers. Kelly has also advised government and regulatory authorities on the development of data protection regimes and policies in the Middle East, which
has included the preparation of draft national legislation governing privacy and data protection for the State of Qatar. She regularly speaks at industry events and forums on regional data protection issues and developments.
