Joseph Simon advises financial institutions on a wide range of issues, including truth-in-lending, RESPA, truth-in-savings, financial privacy, currency transaction and IRS reporting obligations. He has represented financial institutions on various types of regulatory applications, including bank holding company filings, branch applications, mortgage banking license applications, and service corporation and operating subsidiary notices. Mr. Simon has written extensively on the mortgage regulations promulgated under the Dodd-Frank Act and has worked with several financial institutions on meeting the new origination and servicing requirements imposed by those regulations.
Mr. Simon is a co-author for Bloomberg BNA Banking Practice Portfolio Series No. 440, CFPB Mortgage Rules Under the Dodd-Frank Act.
