Steven H. Sholk, Esq. is a Director in the Corporate Department of Gibbons P.C., and Chair of the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Group. His practice focuses on executive compensation and campaign finance, representing employers and executives from local businesses to major corporations. Mr. Sholk drafts and negotiates employment and severance agreements, equity compensation and bonus plans, and the executive compensation and employee benefits provisions of merger and acquisition agreements. He also works with the treatment of golden parachutes through full or partial gross-ups, valleys, and safe-harbor cutbacks. Mr. Sholk chairs the annual campaign finance seminar of the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He counsels corporations and their executives on permissible political activity, and represents a broad range of advocacy organizations. He was counsel to the 2009 and 2013 gubernatorial campaigns of Governor Chris Christie, as well as his presidential campaign. Mr. Sholk received his LL.M. from New York University School of Law, his Juris Doctor from University of North Carolina School of Law, and his Bachelors of Arts from Rutgers University. He is a member of the New Jersey State bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Claims Court, and the U.S. Court or Appeals for the Third Circuit.
