Brenda Pawlak is a Director at Manatt Health Solutions where she advises healthcare providers on business strategy related to federal and state policy developments, with a particular focus on health care delivery and payment reform. Ms. Pawlak has a decade of experience advising hospitals, health systems and provider organizations on strategy and policy issues in the areas of health IT-enabled care delivery reform and integrated delivery strategy as well as in managing complex consulting engagements.

Ms. Pawlak currently advises clients on public and private funding for emerging clinically integrated care models, development and implementation of new care delivery and payment models, complex stakeholder engagement efforts around policy reform, state and local health information exchange policy and operations, and public-private partnership formation. Her recent experience includes developing business plans for regional Accountable Care Organizations; serving as project director for the successful development of an ARRA-funded Strategic and Operational Plan for Statewide Health Information Exchange; ongoing business and advocacy strategy around Meaningful Use and related IT strategy; and analyses of policy, regulatory and operational implications of the care delivery reform initiatives under the ACA.

Prior to joining Manatt, Ms. Pawlak spent over seven years with the Advisory Board Company as an Executive Strategic Advisor to senior executives at major hospitals and health systems, where she helped build custom solutions for specific health system challenges, with a focus on business strategy, health IT-enabled clinical models and hospital-physician partnerships. Previously, Ms. Pawlak focused on new service and product offering development and brand extension at National Geographic and for a division of News Corporation.

Ms. Pawlak received her B.S. from Northwestern University.

She is a co-author of the Bloomberg BNA Health Law & Business Portfolio Series No. 1150, Health Information Technology: Emerging Landscape, Legal Issues and Opportunities.
