Nancy Modesitt is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Professor Modesitt joined the faculty in fall 2007 as an Assistant Professor. From 2003-07 she worked at the American University, Washington College of Law, teaching Contracts, Labor and Employment Law, and Legal Rhetoric.  Ms. Modesitt was the academic coordinator of the Legal Rhetoric Program in 2005-06, and an adjunct professor in that program in 2002-03.

While in practice, Ms. Modesitt worked at Hunton & Williams, Cooley Godward LLP and Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld as well as for the U.S. Department of Justice as an Attorney-Adviser in the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys. Her practice focused on employment litigation and counseling, including handling matters ranging from defending employers in employment discrimination lawsuits to negotiating and drafting employee intellectual property agreements.

Ms. Modesitt received her B.A. from Drew University and her J.D. from the University of Virginia.

She is the co-author of the Bloomberg BNA treatise Whistleblowing: The Law of Retaliatory Discharge.
