Eric P. Mandel serves as Vice President, Information Governance Strategy for Ricoh USA, Inc.  Mr. Mandel spent the decade prior to joining Ricoh as a private practice attorney focusing on navigating clients and other attorneys through various issues related to eDiscovery, information governance, cyber risk, and data privacy and protection.  In addition to practicing law, Eric has worked for a variety of corporations in leadership roles, including running a national eDiscovery service provider during its startup period.

A highly-regarded thought leader in the industry, Mr. Mandel has written extensively on issues particularly related to eDiscovery and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and frequently moderates and speaks at conferences across the country.  Mr. Mandel has served as a member of the influential Steering Committee of The Sedona Conference Working Group 1, and as Chair and President of the Legal Technology Professionals Institute.  He is licensed to practice law in California and Minnesota, and holds a U.S. Certified Information Privacy Professional certification (CIPP/US) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals, as well as a Certified eDiscovery Specialist certification (CEDS) from the Association of Certified eDiscovery Specialists. He received his B.F.A. from the California Institute of the Arts and his J.D. from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law
