Gerald A. Golden is senior counsel in the Chicago office of Neal Gerber Eisenberg. He has extensive experience in employment contract disputes and other issues that arise between employers, their employees, and union representatives. He has tried jury and nonjury employment claims in federal and state courts as well as before U.S. Courts of Appeal. He has successfully managed various transactional and adversarial matters related to unionized workforces, including negotiating labor contracts, managing labor arbitrations, defending a variety of charges brought by the NLRB, and developing strategies for gaining union acceptance of significant institutional policy and procedural changes that often accompany sales and mergers. He also litigates and provides daily counsel on the full range of traditional employment matters, including defending employment discrimination and retaliation lawsuits, defending wage and hour claims, obtaining temporary and permanent injunctions, defending and prosecuting noncompetition agreement claims and negotiating and preparing noncompetition agreements.
