John Delionado is a Partner at Hunton Andrews Kurth's Miami office. Mr. Delionado defends businesses and individuals investigated by the government in criminal and civil matters. He regularly represents financial services companies, retailers, and HIPAA-covered entities in complex regulatory enforcement matters and class actions.

He has led dozens of investigations and defended businesses in matters relating to financial crimes, theft of sensitive data and intellectual property, and healthcare fraud. He also has extensive experience in matters involving cyber intrusions, cyber extortions, and computer breach events for a broad range of Fortune 500 companies and major multinationals, including financial institutions, technology companies and healthcare companies.

A former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Mr. Delionado prosecuted a wide variety of crimes including bank, wire, and computer fraud, including an intrusion into a large information vendor that supplied information to law enforcement, as well as money laundering and narcotics trafficking. He ran Title III wiretaps and tried several cases including high-profile trials involving a mail fraud scheme targeting several schools, the armed kidnapping of a federal employee, an airplane hijacking, and the attempted enticement of a minor over the internet.

Mr. Delionado clerked for the Honorable Federico A. Moreno of the Southern District of Florida.

He received a B.A. from Amherst College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
