Dustin Appel’s practice focuses on commercial and business litigation, including energy litigation and international arbitration matters. Prior to law school, Mr. Appel worked for several years in the countries of the Former Soviet Union in the freight forwarding industry providing logistics services to the energy and mining sectors. Mr. Appel is proficient in written and spoken Russian.
Following graduation from law school, Mr. Appel served as a law clerk to the Honorable Barbara J. Houser, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. He received his B.A., from the University of Texas and his J.D., (summa cum lauder) (Order of the Coif, Order of Barristers) from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
Mr. Appel is a co-author of BBNA Litigation Practice Portfolio Series No. 652, International Arbitration.
