Adam Cohen is a Partner at Eversheds Sutherland LLP's Washington, D.C. office, and member of the firm’s Tax Practice Group. His practice focuses on developing practical solutions to the complex issues of employee compensation, benefits, retirement and pensions. He has more than 20 years of experience representing public companies, closely held businesses and tax-exempt organizations. His extensive experience includes the design and implementation of tax-qualified retirement plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans and 409A compliance, executive compensation arrangements, executive employment and separation agreements, fringe benefits and compensation clawbacks. He currently is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, where he teaches “Retirement Plan Qualification Requirements.” He is Past Chair, Executive Compensation Subcommittee, Tax Section, American Bar Association. He holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia. He is a member of the District of Columbia and Maryland bars.
